Philosophy, Principles and Ethos of Outdoor Fitness

Our philosophy of exercise is based around core strength and then encompassing the following principles.

Definition of core strength: (The God Core)

The balanced development of the deep and superficial muscles that stabilize, align, and move the trunk of the body, especially the abdominals and muscles of the back. Also known as core stability.

Example: Core strength goes beyond the surface muscles and asks us to utilize our deep internal muscles to maintain stability in motion.

Principles: (12 Disciples)

1. Speed: Full, maximum, or optimum rate of motion

2. Strength and Power: The quality or state of being strong; bodily or muscular power; vigor.

3. Agility: The power of moving quickly and easily; nimbleness: exercises demanding agility.

4. Endurance: The ability or strength to continue or last, despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions; stamina.

5. Ply metrics: A type of exercise using explosive movements to develop muscular power, bounding, hopping, and jumping.

6. Balance and Stability: A state of equilibrium or equipoise; equal distribution of weight, amount. The state or quality of being stable, firmness in position.

7. Proprioception: Perception governed by proprioceptors, as awareness of the position of one's body. The unconscious perception of movement and spatial orientation arising from stimuli within the body itself.

8. Posture: The relative disposition of the parts of something. The position of the limbs or the carriage of the body as a whole.

9. Quality: High grade; superiority; excellence.

10. Determination: A fixed purpose or intention.

11. Perseverance: Steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.

12. Health: Soundness of body or mind; freedom from disease or ailment.
